Purpose

This division includes local and special temporary rules adopted to address immediate compelling needs where a failure to act promptly could result in serious prejudice to the safety of the boating public or significantly harm other public interests.

Scope

This division contains temporary rules for boat operation in areas where a specific event such as waterway construction may necessitate special restrictions or may require established rules to be amended for a period of time. When the need is ongoing a permanent rule will be adopted and incorporated into the applicable division of OAR chapter 250.
